I ate too much last night so my weight was terrible today... need to continue watching myself...

Ran the Pacer's half marathon pacing my friend Ashley - My goal was to get her to run sub 2-hours... her goal was just to finish... I didn't hit my goal but she hit hers, and got a 1-minute PR. It was nice and slow, I was so glad I didn't try to push myself to PR... though it would've been a nice course to do it... It's hard being a pacer - you don't know how to motivate your runner... you don't want to push too hard but that's also what you're there for, so it's finding the right balance... A fun day with a fun friend, and I talked to some other running friends at the finish line. There should be several nice running pics of me this time - I need to find ONE good picture of me running other than the one from 5 years ago and the one when I had my mouth wired!

Next weekend is the Capitol Hill Classic 10k, I want to PR on that one. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

Have a great Sunday! The sun is out in DC after being gone on vacation for almost 10 days!

Great job multi-tasking! Supporting a friend; getting an easy long run in; resisting the urge to speed up; not falling...

Sounds like you are a fantastic pacer--you think about all the aspects. It's hard to get a good running picture! The few pictures of me running are so awful I don't show them to anyone. I either look like I'm walking and miserable doing it, or my body looks strangely contorted. Good luck on your 10K and a pr! Is it a pretty flat course?

Great job! I have never been a pacer before, so i don't have any advice, sorry! I does sound like you did an awesome job at it!

Thanks guys! April, the 10k is pretty flat - and then you start the last mile going down and then up Capitol Hill which is a killer! But if you're prepared it's not that bad.

Cool, Lucia. Are we on for the 10k?

Way to get out and help a friend!

You're on Eric! My best time in that course was last year at 50 minutes and change... but I feel faster this year, so I hope to do 48. You think you can beat that? What's your course like?

From Eric Day on Mon, May 11, 2009 at 12:30:20 from 200.52.202.180

This race is new to me. I didn't do it last year since I was barely starting to run. Its sort off flat with long soft inclines.

My time, just hope to crush my PR (and you, of course =) ).

It is hard to pace someone ... especially for longer races. I have gotten cussed and yelled at before ... but I knew it wasn't really personal. I know you won't yell at me come October ;-).

Funny, Dean ran with me for the last 3 miles of my race, and I couldn't really yell at him because I was in so much pain and just wanted to finish -- but you could tell he really did not know what to say ... "you're doing great" was ok ... but "a lot of people up here to pass" did not really work so well!

Can't wait to see how things go in the 10K !!!

I absolutely love fun races, where you don't really care how you do just that you have fun. A pr is just a plus:) Great job!

I can not wait for the new picture!!!

Good luck with the NEXT race.
