Sangeeta, Dyugu, Ha, Justin? What kind of weird names are those?

From argentinerocket on Fri, Jan 21, 2011 at 23:15:38 from 69.143.180.15

Ahhhh mine is a very international crowd, Burt! Sangeeta is Indian, Duygu (I misspelled her name) is Turkish, Ha is from Vietnam, and Justin is the foreigner, he's from Leesburg, VA :)

Very funny Burt! I need to catch up with your adventures...

Jeff, I don't ever want to read "I'm too old..." in your blog again, you rock!

Average 8:55 min/mile.  With Annie and her dog Hank - bad planning made us go 12 miles before we got any water... but it was so cold, we weren't really sweating... went 8 miles out on the 4mile run trail, then back on the W&OD.  Annie's dad was just diagnosed with an incurable form of lymphoma... only 59 years old... Annie is a trooper though - she keeps it together and positive no matter what.

Six miles on my lunch break just before the snow. Slow and easy.

In the afternoon while it was snowing, i walked to the supermarket (1 mile) and back home - got there a whole lot faster than anyone driving! Traffic was terrible, some people were stuck on the road for 8 or 10 hours!  The snow came just too quick to do anything about it, though people blamed the Virginia DOT...

Got lots of snow last night, was hoping to cross-country ski but it got too slushy or icy.  So went on my lunch break to the trail, then went around Columbia Pike and stopped at the REI to get some Nuun... they didn't have lemon-lime so I got some electrolyte tablets made by Nathan - did not like them... Back to the trail and home. The snow/ice was just good enough to not be too slippery or uncomfortable, but it was definitely slow.

After work went cross-country skiing to a golf course for 2.5 hours - it was fabulous!

It's still icy out there... Did 8 miles with Lindsay pretty slow, then went back for another 11 a little faster.  Overall better than 10 minute mile average, partly because of the ice/slush.  Feeling good...

Welcome back Rocket my friend!!! I will be out there this week, but will be up in Bethesda this time. I probably won't have much time to socialize, but I might call you Thursday -- maybe I can meet you on the way to DCA on Friday. I will be back in April -- and this time I will be staying near your house again, so we most definitely will see each other then (maybe even run together!).

A little "speedwork" - one mile intervals, and two hills to finish it off... 8:09, 6:57, 9:26, 6:40, 9:10, 9:17... I think that 6:40 mile is the fastest mile I've ever ran... felt good!

Some pain in the left groin area - as if I had pulled a muscle, around pain 3.5, very suddenly... may've been from the fast miles I did on Thursday but didn't start feeling it till now?  Now I don't know if I should run tomorrow or rest... pain is very minor but I don't want it to get worse... I've been injury-free for so long :(

Running MilesSwimming YardsBike Miles
20.000.000.00

Started the day late as my kitty wouldn't let me sleep; he decided he wanted to jump right on my face all night long... Ran to Justin's place to meet up with him and Rachel - she's just starting to get into exercising so we went slow and walked a bit with her... then they talked me into getting lunch in Georgetown and getting a cupcake... bad influence... So I got back home and went back out again for another 12 miles... my stomach was complaining but it did pretty well.  The muscle pain was there but it felt better after a bit.  Now I am exhausted and have a bit of a sore throat... I hope I don't get a cold!

Couldnt get my Garmin to locate satellites in BA but ran for exactly an hour, slow cause its very warm and humid and rainy and the roads are pretty crowded. Probably about 6 miles... Buenos Aires is not the friendliest city to runners but its better than i expected.
